Medical Teams International Mobile Dental Program

Medical Teams International is an international relief and development organization. In the Pacific Northwest, our Mobile Dental Program provides free/low-cost dental care to low-income individuals who have no other access to care. Urgent care needs are our priority. Each of our eleven mobile units consist of two chairs with x-rays, current up-to-date equipment and instruments for all basic dental procedures. Our ability to offer care is based solely upon the willingness of dental professionals to volunteer.

Our dental vans visit different sites every day - Monday through Saturday. Once a month, a dental unit goes to Cancer Lifeline in Seattle to provide care to cancer patients. Sometimes this care enables them to begin treatment, sometimes it helps alieviate the effects of their treatment. Always, it supports their journey toward health.

If you are interested in helping with a clinic in the Puget Sound area - or at Cancer Lifeline specifically, please return your information to me via the volunteer application form with a copy of your license. If anyone is interested in Cancer Lifeline specifically, please note that at the top of the application form.  Volunteer application form

Union Gospel Mission Dental Clinic

The Mission's dental clinic was opened in 1995, the first of its kind in Washington State. The clinic provides free, quality dental care for Seattle's homeless staying at the Mission or other local Rescue Missions, in a state of the art facility in Pioneer Square.

They offer emergency procedures, restorative, oral surgery and hygiene care. The beautifully arranged, 1500 square foot clinic has three dental operatories, complete with an array of supplies, including safety glasses and gowns.

Puget Sound Christian Clinic

PSCC (formerly the Haller Lake Christian Health Clinic) is located in North Seattle and provides health services to the low-income uninsured population of King and Snohomish Counties.

We all know that health care is expensive these days, and for the low-income population without health insurance, the cost is often prohibitive. This is why volunteers are critically important to the mission at Puget Sound Christian Health Clinic. Without health care professionals and other volunteers, we would not be able to serve these needy individuals and families by providing a wide variety of needed health and spiritual services.

Puget Sound Christian Clinic logoThe PSCC is in great need of volunteer dental hygienists and dentists. Please call 206-363-4105 to offer your help.

Johnny Johnson Memorial Dental Clinic

The Johnny Johnson Memorial Dental Clinic is in need of additional volunteer hygienists to offer their services to those who need it most. The clinic, the only one of its kind in the US, provides dental services to patients with cerebral palsy, head trauma, Down's syndrome, multiple sclerosis and other neurological conditions.

Most of the clinic's dental services are provided by University of Washington third and fourth year dental students under the supervision of volunteer dentists. Hygiene care is provided by second year hygiene students from Lake Washington Technical College, Seattle Central Community College and Shoreline Community College under the supervision of volunteer hygienists.

Among the duties of the volunteer hygienists are monitoring patients' behavior, supervising hygiene students, providing experienced direction to students and patients, reviewing students' clinical work and assisting students as needed. At times they may conduct the hygiene visit themselves.
